Managing Student and Parent Access

View or edit a student's or parent's email or password, and see students' and parents' last login.

Struggling with getting students and parents signed up? Send home QR codes for easy access to student data.

Students and parents have two ways to view student data in LiveSchool, the first through our student and parent app and the second through our weekly Recaps emails.

Locating Access Codes

Find Access Codes by going to Setup and then Students. Select the student and then click on the download Access Sheets in the top, right corner.

Look Up A Parent's or Student's Email Address

Go to Setup > Student and then click on the student name to view emails used for both the student and the parent.

Steps to Look Up a Student or Parent Email Address

  1. Go to Setup

  2. Click Students

  3. Click on the student's name to display the Student Details page

  4. The student's and parent's email will be listed under their name (if they've created an account).

Edit a Student's or Parent's Email Address

Go to Setup > Student and then click on the student name to reset passwords for both the student and the parent.

Steps to Edit a Student's or Parent's Email

  1. Go to Setup

  2. Click Students

  3. Click on the student's name to display the Student Details page

  4. Click "Edit Email" and enter a new email to change the student's or parent's email.

Change a Student's or Parent's Password

Go to Setup > Student and then click on the student name to reset passwords for both the student and the parent.

Steps to Change a Student's or Parent's Password

  1. Go to Setup

  2. Click Students

  3. Click on the student's name to display the Student Details page

  4. Click "Reset Password" and enter a new password to change the student's or parent's password.

View Students or Parents that Haven't Signed Up and Get their Access Codes

You can view access codes for students and parents that have not signed up yet in two ways, the first way is to view it from the Setup > Students page. Find "Parent Last Login" and sort by those who have not signed up. Click on the student name to view the available code.

Look for "parent last login" in the top row.

The second way is to download the export and view the last login on the spreadsheet.

Click on "export".

Any student without anything noted for Student Last Login or Parent Last Login has not had a student or a parent sign up. All codes will be listed in the student row.

Blank cells indicate no sign up.

View last login

On the Students Setup screen, you’ll see:

  1. The last time the student logged into LiveSchool

  2. The last time one of the student’s parents logged into LiveSchool

  3. Whether one, both, or neither of the parents have signed up

Recommendation: Enable Recaps for Automatic Weekly Summaries via Email

Recaps will show point transactions, along with account balances.

Recaps help schools deliver an email summary of points data to students and their parents — every week, automatically – so you can build better feedback loops.

This is an optional feature on top of our student and parent accounts. When a LiveSchool admin enables Recaps at your school, a weekly email is automatically sent to all student and parent email addresses. This email includes a Magic Link that opens a summary of their data for the last week, with no log-in required.
