Set a Point Goal, Set a Time Frame, Set a Category, and create an Unforgettable Event!

Point goals are a popular reward system that build relationships, supports your SEL goals, and build community between students and staff.

Point goals are simple:

  • Students must earn a certain number of points in a given time period.

  • The goal can be for all LiveSchool points or a specific category.

  • Students who meet the goal get to participate in your unforgettable event.

Pulling Data for your Point Goals

LiveSchool's Insights makes it quick and easy to see a list of who's eligible for your incentive.

Go to Students Scoreboard

From the Main Menu, select Insights and then Scoreboard. From there you can view point balances.

Students Scoreboard shows you every student in your school, and their:

  • Total positive (Merits) points.

  • Total negative (Demerits) points

  • The ratio of their positive to negative points,

  • Earned points (total positive points minus negative points (if your school subtracts for negatives))

  • Spent points (points spent in Rewards Store)

  • Saved points (Earned minus Spent)‍

Access the Appropriate Roster or Grade

Choose the Roster of students you'd like to see by clicking on the Roster picker in the top, left corner.

Students Scoreboard defaults to show you all of the students in the school, but you can access a specific roster or grade using the Roster Picker.

Choose the Appropriate Time Frame

Click the Calendar icon in the top, right corner to edit the Timeframe being displayed.

Make sure that you're calculating which students are eligible for the incentive based on when you told students your point goal was starting, whether it was for a week, the month, or maybe even the quarter.

Add Logic to View Students Who've Met the Goal

Add Logic to the Scoreboard depending on what data you need.

Click the Merits column header to access the sorting and filtering options.

In the scenario above, we're looking for a list of students who have earned at least 50 (or more than 49) points. Choose Add Logic then choose More.

You can then add the number of merits you're basing your Point goal on, and when you save Students Scoreboard will only show you the students who've earned enough Points (for all behaviors on your rubric) for this point goal incentive.

Add a Filter for a Specific Behavior or Category (Optional)

Filter for a specific Behavior Category by clicking on the Merits and then Filter.

Adding a Behavior or Behavior category contingency to your Point goal can help you target specific Behaviors in your school.

To see a list of who's earned a certain amount of Points in a specific Behavior or category, we'll add a filter.

In the example above, we're adding a filter for the category of Respect. And since we already have logic applied to show students with more than 49 points (from the logic example above), we'll see a list of all students who have earned more than 49 points for any of the behaviors in the Respect category.
