At LiveSchool, we understand the importance of recognizing and rewarding your educators. This not only adds a touch of fun to your school culture but also has a positive impact on your team's morale, making them happier and more effective educators. Happy educators contribute to happier students and create a more enriching learning environment. It's a win-win-win situation!

Teacher-Focused Points and Rewards

You can recognize and reward your teachers in LiveSchool using one of two methods:

Method #1: Add Teachers To Your Primary Site

To get started, you'll want to add your teachers as students in a grade level that you don't use for actual students. For example, if you have elementary or middle school students, consider adding your teachers as 12th-grade students.

If you set up your site via spreadsheet, here's how to add new students. If you set up your site via Clever, please reach out to support@liveschoolinc.com with your staff list to have us add them as students.

Creating a Roster for Teachers

Once all your teachers are entered as students, you can organize them into a dedicated Roster for staff members. Here's an example of how it might look:

Providing Points to Teachers

To recognize and award points to your staff members, you can either:

  • Use your existing categories and behaviors, aligning the entire school towards the same positive behaviors.

  • Or, create a new category of behaviors specifically for your staff. Some examples of behaviors for teachers might include:

Here is an example of a Points rubric.

You can also have the rest of your staff hide this category if you want only administrators to provide points to educators.

Providing Rewards to Teachers

If you want to provide rewards to your teachers, you can either:

  • Use your existing rewards, aligning the entire school toward similar types of incentives.

  • Or, create some rewards specifically for your staff. Some examples of rewards for teachers might include:

You can create staff-specific Rewards.

Method #2: Add Teachers to an Additional Site

If you wish to award points to teachers outside of your standard behavior rubric and rewards setup, we can create an additional site to accommodate your teachers as students. This allows them to earn points and redeem rewards in the same way that your students would, but with a unique rubric and rewards setup.

Please note that there is a $495 fee for creating an additional LiveSchool site. To request the creation of an additional Teacher Site, please reach out to us at support@liveschoolinc.com.

Sharing Point Balances with Staff Members

When you start issuing points and rewards to your staff members, they'll want to view their LiveSchool point balances. To simplify this, download the access sheets for your staff roster or grade using the Roster Picker:

This generates a PDF with an access sheet for each staff member. They can create their own accounts by visiting https://parent.liveschoolapp.com and entering one of the provided parent codes:

After entering the access code, staff members will be prompted to create a new LiveSchool account (separate from the account they are using to provide points to students) by providing an email address and password. Staff members can use their email and add a "+staff" before the "@" symbol to create a second account, like name+staff@domain.edu, or they can use a personal account, like name@gmail.com.

Recommendation: Enable Recaps for Weekly Summaries Via Email

We highly recommend enabling Recaps to provide weekly feedback to your staff members:

This feature sends automatic Recap emails to staff-created email addresses every week, including a Magic Link leading to a summary of their behavior data for the previous week.

For more details about enabling and managing Recaps, review our Automatically Send Weekly Feedback with Recaps article.

Information Available to Staff Once They Log In

Upon logging in, staff members gain access to essential information:

  • View their current Point Balance, updated in real-time.

  • Access a 3-week history of behavior, comments, and rewards via the Timeline.

  • Explore the school Store with item prices, descriptions, and points needed for each purchase.

Conclusion

By implementing teacher-focused points and rewards, you can boost staff morale, enhance teamwork, and create a more engaging learning atmosphere. Whether you choose to align your educators with existing categories and behaviors or design custom criteria, the goal remains the same: to celebrate the dedication of your staff.

Incorporating LiveSchool into your school's culture isn't just about recognition; it's about building a community where everyone feels valued, engaged, and excited about the impact they make on students' lives. So, as you embark on this journey of recognizing and rewarding your staff, remember that it's not just a win-win situation; it's a win-win-win situation. Your educators win, your students win, and your entire school community wins when positivity and recognition become the norm. Thank you for choosing LiveSchool to help make this a reality.
