The Competition Dashboard is the version of your standings that's meant to be seen: big, bright, animated, and updating in real time. It's what you'd put up on the hallway TV, project at a pep rally, or embed on your school's website so families can follow along from home.
👤 Who can do this: Anyone can launch the dashboard, including admins, site leaders, and teachers. Admins control whether it's publicly shareable
Viewing the dashboard
Click House Points in the sidebar, then click Competition. The dashboard appears on screen with your houses, their colors, and current totals.
When a teacher awards points anywhere in LiveSchool, the dashboard animates the change within seconds. If sound is on, you'll hear a celebratory "ding" every time.
The toolbar
Three controls sit in the top-right corner:
Control | What it does |
Full Screen | Expands the board to fill the entire screen and hides the header and footer. Perfect for TVs. Press |
Sound | Turns the point-awarded chime on or off. |
Share | Opens a menu to copy the link, email it, post to X/Twitter, Facebook, or embed it on a website. |
Making the dashboard public
By default, the dashboard is only visible to people logged into your LiveSchool account. If you want to put it on a hallway TV that isn't logged in, or share it with families, flip on the public URL:
Go to House Points > Settings.
Turn on Enable Public Dashboard URL.
Copy the link that appears.
Anyone with that link can view standings. They can't see anything else, just the dashboard.
🔒 Privacy note: The public dashboard doesn't show student names. When points are awarded, you'll just see the point change (like "+5 Points"). No individual student is identified. Student names only appear on the dashboard when you're logged in to LiveSchool.
Sharing on social media
Once your public dashboard URL is on, you can post the link straight to your school's social accounts from the dashboard itself. Click Share in the top-right toolbar and pick one of the options:
Option | What happens |
X / Twitter | Opens a pre-filled tweet with the link and a message like "Check out our live House Points competition at [Your School]! 🏆" |
Opens Facebook's share dialog with the link ready to post
Opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message you can send to a group or contact
Opens a draft email with the subject, message, and link filled in |
You'll go through whatever sign-in your account uses, then post like normal. The link opens a no-login view for whoever clicks it.
ℹ️ Note: Posts on social media are links. They don't show live standings inside the post itself. When someone clicks the link, they'll see the up-to-the-minute dashboard. For a live-updating board on a school website, use the embed option below instead.
Embedding it on your school website
If your school has a website and you'd like the dashboard to live there (e.g., on a "School Spirit" page):
From the dashboard, click Share > Embed in website
Copy the iframe code.
Paste it into any webpage.
The code looks something like this:
<iframe src="https://..." width="100%" height="600" style="border: none;"></iframe>
A few tips
Leave it running all day. The dashboard is designed for it. Totals stay in sync even if the tab sits open for hours.
Use fullscreen + sound for events. Assemblies, spirit weeks, rallies — the ding and the animations are a big part of the fun.
