Getting Started
New to House Points? Start here for everything you need to launch Houses for the first time.
Managing Houses & Rosters
Edit Houses after launch - change names and colors, move students around, upload new rosters, and find students who haven't been assigned to a House yet.
- Identify Students without House AssignmentsDownload a list of students who are not listed as a part of any Houses.
- Delete HousesRestore House Points to the original default settings with no rosters, for a brand-new competition.
- Download a House ListSee what House each student is in and make sure every student is in a House by downloading a House list.
- Editing HousesMake changes to your houses: rename them, change colors, move students between houses, or import a fresh list of assignments.
- Uploading a New House ListUse the import tool to update house assignments in bulk. We'll walk you through downloading the template, filling it in, and uploading it.
Competition Settings
Admin toggles that shape how your competition runs — start dates, demerits, and balanced scoring for fair play.
- Restarting a House Points Competition and Setting a Start DateSet the start date for your first House Points competition, or clear your House Points Dashboard to launch a new competition mid-year.
- Subtract Points from House TotalsChoose whether the demerits students earn count negatively toward their House.
- Balanced Scoring: Fair Competition for Houses of Different SizesNormalize scores by house size so smaller houses aren't disadvantaged.
Viewing Standings
See how your competition is going. View trends on the Overview screen, or put the live Competition Dashboard up on a hallway TV for the whole school.
Awarding Points
Give points to whole Houses at once, and customize your Points screen to make Houses easy to spot while you're awarding.
